MMFGI
Moving Montgomery Forward Golf Initiative is a youth-focused program that uses golf as a tool to help underserved middle school students grow both on and off the course. It combines skill development in golf with academic and character-building experiences, giving kids opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence, and access positive mentorship. The initiative also incorporates S.T.E.M. education elements, helping students apply science, technology, engineering, and math concepts in fun, real-world ways connected to golf and life. Its goal is to empower young people for brighter futures and expand access to golf and related opportunities in the community.
The league emphasizes skill-building, sportsmanship, and teamwork through structured matches across local courses, including Gateway, Lagoon, and Cottonwood. With two divisions-A-Team and BTeam-it provides opportunities for players of varying experience levels to grow and advance.
Matches are played over a six-week season in the spring, culminating in a City Championship for both divisions. The league is an engaging platform to nurture young talent and inspire a lifelong appreciation for golf.
8 Week afterschool program (classroom and on course activities). Middle school 6th-8th grades Wednesdays at 4:45pm to 6:30pm starting March 4th - April 29th.
